Fast food, fast gaming? New ‘Happy Meal PC’ rumored for release next quarter

Behind the cute look lies a gaming monster.

The race to have the fastest and most eye-catching gaming rig is taking things to a whole new level. (Sorry, couldn’t resist that pun) The recently released KFC gaming console is very much a real thing and has launched with many people scratching their heads.

Not to be outdone, there’s a new contender entering the arena. McDonald’s is rumored to be close to rolling out the first-ever “Happy Meal PC” which is rumored to sport an RTX 3080, 4 HDMI ports, and an easy-access opening on top that allows for easy upgrading in the future. Just open using the yellow handles on top and you’ll be able to swap out GPUs, SOCs, PCI slots, and more.

Innovation #1: Oil-based cooling

Most high-end gaming rigs require liquid cooling. The Happy Meal PC takes a more environmentally friendly approach through two distinct innovations. According to my sources within McDonald’s Gaming and Meal Division, the new pc allows for soybean oil to be used as the cooling agent rather than a more toxic chemical.

Innovation #2: Built-in deep fryer

According to sources, this will allow the second innovation to happen as well: a built-in mini deep fryer. The soybean oil circulates throughout the PC, acquiring heat and storing it. Then, it enters a circulating bin that can be used to fry a small amount of fries or chicken nuggets. As the oil heats up, it acts as a heat sink and puts the newly-gained energy into warming up your food. You, in turn, eat the food.

In other words, the more you play, the faster your food cooks.

We haven’t gotten our hands or eyes on the new PC but will keep an eye out for it. We’ll be sure to run it through a battery of tests including how quickly an order of fries can be cooked while playing Cyberpunk 2077, Crysis, and Fortnight. We’ll also, of course, see how easy it is to set up and if McDonald’s plans on offering a subscription service for the rumored ‘gaming oil’ that’ll keep the machine running smoothly.
